Take Your Child to Work Day! Somerset Academy will participate in “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day” on Friday, February 1, 2019. This event is designed to help children between the ages of 8 and 18 learn about the array of job possibilities for their future and to educate them about the realities of work.

Police Alert Regarding Threats

Police Alert Regarding Threats The Pembroke Pines Police Department wants to remind parents and students about the severity of making threats to do violence in a school. If a student uses any words,verbally, in writing, or via any social media account in a threatening manner that mention,gun violence or any type of violence using a weapon or hurting someone, the police department is taking every threat seriously and is evaluating each threat to determine whether a crime has been committed.

Shuttle Bus Registration to North Campus! Somerset Academy will provide FREE daily morning shuttle bus service for 2nd - 12th grade students from the South Campus to the North Campus. Shuttle Bus riders must complete the online registration form in order to be transported to the North Campus.
**Current AIA Transportation students do not have to complete this form**
Departure times: 7am (M/H), 7:20am(M/H) and 7:45am (2-5th Grades)

Student IDs are Mandatory!

Student IDs are Mandatory! All M/H students must wear their Somerset’s Student ID card on a lanyard DAILY (for more information regarding Student ID cards, please make reference to the IDENTIFICATION CARD section in this Handbook). Replacement IDs can be purchased in the Activities Office for $5 (Cash Only). Students not wearing their IDs will receive infractions.

Visual Arts Students Send Portraits to Puerto Rican Children!

Visual Arts Students Send Portraits to Puerto Rican Children! Ms. Beckenhauer's Visual Arts Arts Conservatory students participated in the “Memory Project.” The Memory Project is a non-for-profit organization that collaborates with artists to create portraits for children in underprivileged areas. This is the third year that they have participated with the organization. This year they were assigned children from Hurricane stricken areas of Puerto Rico.

Congrats to Julianna:  AP Art Studio Exhibitor! Congratulations to Julianna Berroa (SAC 11th grader). Her work is showcased in the Superintendent's AP Studio Art Exhibition at the Coral Spring's Museum. It opened on January 3rd and will be up until January 30th.

Thespians Earn Superiors at Districts!

Thespians Earn Superiors at Districts! Congratulations to Mr. Joseph and the ITS Troupe 7510, who competed in their District Event this weekend at Nova Southeastern University. We are extremely proud to say that 18 of the students' theater pieces received superior scores and qualified to compete at the State competition in Tampa in March. Congratulations to all on their hard work and dedication!

Varsity Wrestling Wins 6th Annual Somerset Duals! The Varsity Wrestling Team won the 6th Annual Somerset Duals moving to 9-0 on the season and winning 67-0 in the finals against 2nd place Forest Hills High School. Darian Estevez was also voted Outstanding Wrestler by the coaches.
