Police Alert Regarding Threats

Police Alert Regarding Threats The Pembroke Pines Police Department wants to remind parents and students about the severity of making threats to do violence in a school. If a student uses any words,verbally, in writing, or via any social media account in a threatening manner that mention,gun violence or any type of violence using a weapon or hurting someone, the police department is taking every threat seriously and is evaluating each threat to determine whether a crime has been committed.
Shuttle Bus Registration to North Campus!

Shuttle Bus Registration to North Campus! Somerset Academy will provide FREE daily morning shuttle bus service for 2nd - 12th grade students from the South Campus to the North Campus. Shuttle Bus riders must complete the online registration form in order to be transported to the North Campus.
**Current AIA Transportation students do not have to complete this form**
Departure times: 7am (M/H), 7:20am(M/H) and 7:45am (2-5th Grades)

Student IDs are Mandatory!

Student IDs are Mandatory! All M/H students must wear their Somerset’s Student ID card on a lanyard DAILY (for more information regarding Student ID cards, please make reference to the IDENTIFICATION CARD section in this Handbook). Replacement IDs can be purchased in the Activities Office for $5 (Cash Only). Students not wearing their IDs will receive infractions.

Congrats to the Clear Cut Team: SF Program Management Institute Winners!

Congrats to the Clear Cut Team:  SF Program Management Institute Winners! The South Florida Program Management Institute (PMI) Chapter Community Outreach Program partnered with Somerset Academy High School students for the 4th year. They were challenged to design solutions to increase membership and reach out to the Women of Destiny (WOD) Organization. The program Director, Pryanka Saxena along with our school's sponsor, Mr. Zaldivar, assisted in coordinating meetings throughout the year for the competition to be completed. This competition applied management skills and techniques using all the PMI methodology to plan and execute the a project for Women of Destiny Program (WOD) Organization. The competition was between two student teams to come up with a solution that benefits the WOD organization the best. A panel of judges, including the Executive Director of WOD judged both teams presentations and research. After their presentations, judges deliberated and awarded the winning team $400.
Somerset Artists' Work Exhibited at FAEA!

Somerset Artists' Work Exhibited at FAEA! Congratulations to Ms. Beckenhauer's art students Susana Marulanda Ortega, Gabrielle Neves and Kimbriah Alfrenar. Their artwork was selected for the FAEA student art exhibition, which can viewed on www.faea.org. Only 4 Broward County high school students' artwork were selected for the show and 3 were from Somerset!
Varsity Winter Guard: 10th in the Nation!

Varsity Winter Guard:  10th in the Nation! Congratulations to Ms. Crespo and the Varsity Winter Guard who participated in the Winter Guard International (WGI) competition in Dayton, Ohio. The guard ranked #10 out of 143 of the top teams in the country. This is the first time in Somerset history that the team has made it to finals.

Sun-Sentinel 1st Team Wrestlers! Congrats to Nick Benton, Daniel Miranda and Ramiro Mosquera for being named to the Sun-Sentinel's 1st Team for Wrestling!
Sun-Sentinel Wrestler of the Year: Skyler Caban!

Sun-Sentinel Wrestler of the Year:  Skyler Caban! Congrats to Sophomore, Skyler Caban, who was named the Sun-Sentinel's Wrestler of the Year! Skyler caps 61-win year with state title at 113 pounds.

Congrats to the Varsity and JV Winter Guard Teams: SFWGA Gold Medal Champions!

Congrats to the Varsity and JV Winter Guard Teams:  SFWGA Gold Medal Champions! Congratulations to Ms. Crespo, Guard Instructors and the Varsity/JV Winter Guard Teams who won Gold at the SFWGA Championship. Varsity won 1st Place in the National A Class with a score of 91.34 (2nd highest score in the entire competition). JV won 1st Place in the 2A Class and were voted Fan Favorite. The Varsity team will compete next at the Winter Guard International Competition in Dayton, Ohio.
State Wrestling Champ: Skyler Caban!

State Wrestling Champ:  Skyler Caban! Somerset Wrestling Team finished the season in Silver Spurs Arena crowning it's 7th Individual State Champion 113 Pound sophomore Skyler Caban won the State Wrestling Championship in upset fashion besting the heavy favorites in his weight to claim the title. Juniors Nick Benton and Daniel Miranda also reached the state finals Saturday night but finished as State Runner ups at their weight divisions. Senior, Ramiro Mosquera, also reached the podium finishing 5th in the state at 138 pounds. The team scored 93 points and placed 5th in the State!
